Where can I shoot my 12 gauge shotgun at in New Orleans, La?

I just got a Mossberg Maverick and I can't find any shooting ranges in or around New Orleans that allows shotguns. So since I can't find a range, I was wondering if there was any other places I can go such as in the Woods or something. I don't want to go hunting, I just want to shoot the darn thing for the first time. And also what are the laws on shooting for fun in the woods (Not hunting).
